The company Cardinal Health issued a Field Safety Notification on the Alaris® GP volumetric pump concerning a software upgrade. In a rare sequence of events either the single bubble and/or accumulator air detection system can be temporarily disabled. Until the upgrade process is undertaken the manufacturer recommends some measures to minimize the risk.
