Smiths Medical ASD has issued a Field Safety Notice on possible alarm error in CADD-Legacy® Duodopa® pumps with software revision B and C. If the Duodopa® reservoir is not properly aligned with the pump or if Duodopa® is not flowing from the medication bag inside the reservoir to the pumping mechanism, the pump is designed to alarm two-tone beeps (long-short) and display the current pump status. The pump continues to run.
In pumps with software revision B and C, this alarm may not occur as intended. Instead, the pump may alarm and display a system fault error code, “Error Code 1140.” Delivery of Duodopa® stops.
