In March 2007, the Medtronic GmbH issued an information concerning the risk of a prematurely battery depletion of the Lifepak CR Plus and Lifepak Express defibrillators manufactured from December 2005 through August 2006.These defibrillators include an electrical component that may fail. Affected customers were recommended to inspect their defibrillators monthly to ensure the battery is functional. For the reason that over time the anticipated failures exceeded what the manufacturer’s early analysis predicted, all potentially affected defibrillators are corrected now and the customers are informed accordingly.
