Safety Notice for the HeartStart FRx or HeartStart HS1 automated external defibrillators (AEDs), Philips Healthcare

Product group Medical electronics / Electromedical devices - electrotherapy
Reference 07471/13

In 2012, Philips Healthcare informed the customers of the HeartStart FRx or HeartStart HS1 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) about an amendment in the Owner’s Manual. It clarifies that, if the device emits a pattern of single chirps, the user will be exactly instructed by pressing the blue i-button what actions to take. A pattern of triple chirps signals that the device should be removed from use and that a technical investigation by Philips is required to ensure that it is ready for use. The customers were asked to update their maintenance protocols accordingly.
