Dräger Medical AG & Co. KG has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning a corrective action of the spring-loaded arms of the surgical lights Sola 500, Sola 500 Mobil, Sola 700 and Stella. There is the risk that a welded seam at the joint breaks (permanent break) and in a worst case scenario the light head falls down. Until corrective action has been carried out the customers are recommended to handle/position the affected surgical lights attentively and sensibly in order to minimize the load on the lower pivot joint of the spring-loaded arm.
