Akkuplanet GmbH has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning a recall of the rechargeable NiMH batteries for use with the Heine otoscopes (type S2Z/ X-0199333 2.5V 0.7Ah or type S3Z/ X-0299314 3.6V 0.7Ah) AKKUmed, article numbers 110900-AN and 110901-AN, delivered between February 2010 and June 2010. The affected batteries can overheat and catch fire.
