GE Healthcare has issued a Safety Notice concerning DST-XL Gamma Camera. When doing a scan with the arms or gantry rotation in a non-neutral position and an encoder failure occurs for the arm or gantry motions, the gantry or arm rotation motion may continue with gravity. The manufacturer will install new electrical brakes for the arm and gantry rotation on all systems.
