Varian Medical Systems has issued an information concerning a corrective action of Varian High Energy and Low Energy Clinacs. Due to a hardware fault the collimator drive chain may fall off or break, allowing the collimator to rotate freely. Undetected, this failure may result in a treatment with the wrong collimator angle.
