Varian Medical Systems has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning information on how to properly configure and limit the collimator jaw settings in Varian software products ARIA, VARiS Vision and 4DITC when using BrainLAB conical collimator accessories on a Novalis LE (low energy) accelerator. The information is carried out in accordance with the BrainLAB Safety Notice of August 12, 2009 concerning stereotactic radiosurgery / radiotherapy treatments using conical collimators (cf. BfArM Reference-No. 3077/09).
