Varian Medical Systems has issued a field safety notice concerning recall of plastic needle with mandarin, 2.0mm diameter, length 113mm, 200mm and 320mm. Varian has previously informed that the needle tip may separate from the needle shaft such that the tip may detach in the patient upon withdrawal, in September 2008.
