Varian Medical Systems has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning a recall of all lots of the applicator part AL07289000 Rectal Retractor, Stainless steel/white acetal. Fluids or other contaminants may infiltrate the interior of the retractor around the titanium rod and could cause infection, toxicity, or allergic reaction. The device should not be used anymore and should be quarantined.
