Elekta has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning malfunction of the Semikron Diode of all SL75/5 Linacs. The defect can increase the pressure in the diode and cause it to malfunction during radiation delivery, or after radiation delivery is terminated. If this malfunction occurs, the ceramic body of the diode can rupture.
